On Wednesday, Aug 13th a Charge Conference was convened to hear the recommendation from the Building Committee…that our congregation proceed forward with the  proposed new facility, THE WELL.  The latest architectural plan were presented by Brad Farlow of Skinner, Lamm & Highsmith and a financial overview from Kevin Anderson and the Finance Committee.  A final recommendation was adopted for vote at the full Church Conference on Sunday, Aug 24th during the Sunday School hour.  All members are encouraged to be present in the sanctuary for this important meeting.

The recommendation reads as follows:

THE CHARGE CONFERENCE RECOMMENDS THE FOLLOWING:

1. That the Church proceed with a new building project in accordance with the design entitled, “Design Development for Base Bid (Phase 1) and Schematic Design for Add Alternate (Phase 2)” by Skinner, Lamm & Highsmith and dated August 1, 2014. The Church shall proceed with the new building project through a combination of capital campaign support and by financing the remainder of the cost by a loan on market rate terms from a financial institution.

2. The estimated cost of the proposed project is $10-$12 million. In order to support a building project of $10-$12 million, the Charge Conference recommends that the Church would need to raise between $7 million and $9 million in cash and pledges to proceed with the design entitled, “Design Development for Base Bid” and “Schematic Design for Add Alternate” by Skinner, Lamm and Highsmith dated August 1, 2014.

3. In either case, the Church shall undertake a 3-year capital funds campaign, beginning not later than October, 2014, in an effort to raise funds from our membership based upon giving over a 1, 2 or 3 year period, or a period of up to 5 years in special circumstances. The net collections from the 3-year capital funds campaign will be set aside or used to reduce the contract balance on the building project.

4. The Church, through the Charge Conference, may make adjustments to this plan based upon changing events or circumstances
